Things to do in Cornwall: Pentewan Beach

With it's near-white sand, Pentewan is a popular beach located between St Austell and Mevagissey. The beach faces into St Austell Bay allowing it to be sheltered from winds and tidal swell making it the ideal for swimming and sea canoeing. Stroll down the beach and you will discover the old harbour of Pentewan, a great way to soak up some local history. The village which is roughly 500 metres from the beach is equipped with a car park, cafes and public WC's.
